Well, it looks like I might be acting again. In Arsenic & Old Lace. I'll let you figure out whether I'm the Arsenic, or the Old Lace.

Standing in line at the supermarket today, I couldn't help but think...Aren't you glad that pesky reincarnate gossip column has gone out of fashion? And then I though, ducky, you'd better bite your tongue, before you jinx us all.

If anyone is interested, my little theatre company is holding workshops this month, culminating in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream</a> over the weekend of July 24th. I know, I know, the Solstice is June 21st, but that's a Tuesday.

Someone remind me what to do with an impatient, crotchety, old hobbit again?

I had such a lovely time in the Shire, it was tempting not to come back to Wales at all. But I knew you all would miss me too much.

I think I'm going to spend St. Paddy's day in the Shire.

Well, well, well. It seems one of my young actors was quite dedicated to researching their roll for this weekend's performance, and came across an old photo of their dear old drama teacher as Juliet. I'm not sure if I should be flattered, or insulted.

Can I just say that whoever thought it was a good idea to have a bunch of hormonally vacillating junior high students attempt to stage Romeo and Juiet at this time next month ought to have thrown herself down a well and spared us all the drama.

For those interested, my theatre group and I are putting on an interactive mystery dinner show for the Halloween season. We'll be running two weeks, opening Friday the twenty-second at 7pm, an culminating Sunday the thirty-first. And no, I can't tell you who-dunnit. You'll just have to sleuth it out yourself.
And feel free to come in costume!

Well, my class continues to choose the most...interesting subject matter on which to base their writing and performances. They've just begun submitting their own original one-acts for our upcoming holiday festival, and I must say.
Some of it reads a bit like...what's it called? Fanfiction? I'm afraid I can't name any names. I'd hate to give anyone a swell head. But it's actually quite entertaining.

Oh, dear. Some of my actors remind me of ham and cheese sandwiches, with out the bread. But I do love them to pieces.
Some of my models on the other hand, well. I just won't say what they remind me of. It's uncharitable.
In other news, I've been approached to do some costume design for a small but promising independent film to be shot here this Autumn. Of course I couldn't say no, but my goodness! I'm about to have my hands full.

I shall be attending a rather important fashion show this weekend. Would anyone like to accompany an old lady as her plus-one? Or -two?

I was wondering if perhaps you'd like to do lunch with me sometime. Perhaps get to know each other in person? If you're not too busy with work or studies, of course. Just let me know.

My summer drama students have informed me they would like to make a production of Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog. I am not sure whether I ought to be amused, or disturbed. To say nothing of acquiring the rights to something that was not actually written for the stage...

I want to thank all of you who turned out to see The Hobbit. To be honest, the whole affair was a bit surreal for Frodo and I, but the children were so thrilled to hear they were performing for a sold-out audience. I've gotten so many emails asking me what we'll be performing for our summer reunion. We shall see. I'm quite looking forward to it myself.
Ainsley, I do hope you, and Morgan, and Jackson are well. I may have to invite myself to tea one day soon, just to satisfy my foolish, worrisome old soul.

Howell's garden is looking so lovely this time of year. It makes me glad I've kept it up. Something to remember him by.
Sam would like it too.
Jerry, understand the world has gone to hell in a handbag, but I do hope you haven't forgotten our date.
I suppose I might as well make it an open invitation for anyone who dares to watch. This weekend, my drama students will be putting on their year-end performance. Did I mention it was The Hobbit? Oh yes. It'll be grand fun.

I think I should like to have a Spring tea party. I know it's not officially Spring just quite yet, but it should give me the impetus to get all of the cleaning done in good time. Air out the cottage, and all that. Goodness knows it'll take me an age--I'm always terribly nostalgic about going through old keepsakes when I am supposed to be cleaning.
I wonder if Miranda would like to pop over and join me for a spell. Organizing old nick-nacks seems like the sort of thing she'd find just ducky.
Of course, if anyone else would like to volunteer, I would be happy to feed you for your troubles. The only caveat: Frodo will know if anything goes missing!

I've been thinking. Yes, I know, such things can be hazardous to one's health, but nevertheless, I have been thinking. Or more actually wondering about the child I gave up for adoption, and if I have grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. I've wondered about it a lot, and even thought about trying to hire an investigator, but keep on telling myself that it's too late to interfere with their life (or lives) now, after all this time.
I suppose I ought to be content with my drama students, and my god-children. It's just...not the same.
